I received my Master’s Degree in Education with a major in Counseling from Lamar University. Prior to working as a counselor, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a major in special education from Sam Houston State University. I have extensive experience as an educator of students with various types of special needs not limited to Autism, Learning Disabilities, and ADHD. I also have experience as a school counselor. I work as a volunteer crisis counselor with a local non-profit which reached out to many during the Texas floods.
I believe that it takes great courage, or moxie, for someone to step out and seek counseling. Unexpected, life changing events can be very stressful. Sometimes even expected changes such as an upcoming marriage or new baby, although exciting, can also cause unwanted stress. Through a collaborative approach, I work with my clients to explore their strengths, and inner moxie to bring about positive change. I provide a multitude of therapeutic techniques to allow clients to work through life obstacles while in a safe and trusting atmosphere. I look forward to hearing from you.
